Finding and installing NewBlue Titler EX...?

savethedog wrote on 8/19/2015, 9:03 PM

Hello. Bear with me. New to Magix, much less editing in general. How and where do I find and install this NewBlue Titler EX? It's not the somewhat limited titles, etc. that's already in the Titles file, is it? If it's in the online PDF I can usually figure it out, but not this. I know I have a learning curve ahead of me, but this has me stumped. Thanks for any helpful input. I have Movie Edit Pro 2015 Plus and running on Windows 7.

Hi

Assuming you have the download version of MEP 2015.

Under the Help menu you have two further options:

Free download....  - this contains the second part of the program with more Effects, titles, templates etc - install these if you have not already done so - note this can take a long time.

Install extra programs  - this contains the extra programs which can be used with MEP.

The Newblue Titler FX is on the Effects tab.

Note if you have an Intel processor and are using the integrated Intel graphics then thethe Newblue Titler FX will not work - you will get the mesage 'Titler cannot work due to low GPU capabilities'.  If you want to use this effect then you would need to install a compatible graphics card on your computer.

Hello John. Thanks. I'm slowly trying to figure it out. I did manage to find the Free and Extra Install programs. I downloaded 6 "Movie Template" add-ons (although I'm not sure where they are) but nothing I can find with NewBlue in the title. I go to Extra efects and then the Plug-ins... but it tells me "A video effect could not be found." It says in the same pop-up "To download video effects plug-ins from the Internet, click on "Internet...."  But I'll be if I see where to click on "Internet..." Pardon me if I'm missing the obvious.

I did purchase the DVD copy from Amazon, but I'd assume it's relatively similar.

And after all this, I may not even be able to use it. I am using Intel, but it's an i7 Quadcore so I thought that would do it and I have a nVidia Quadro graphic card with 2GB of dedicated RAM.

Ultimately, if I can't use it, it may be more than I'd ever need anyway, but it would e nice to find it and see since it was part of the purchase.

Hi

. . . . I did purchase the DVD copy from Amazon, but I'd assume it's relatively similar. . . . . .

In that cse there are no more templates, effects etc to download - they are already installed.

. . . . i7 Quadcore so I thought that would do it and I have a nVidia Quadro graphic card with 2GB of dedicated RAM. . . . .

Is the NVidia installed in your computer and is working but you cannot use it, or do you mean you cannot install it in the computer?

The Newblue Titler FX is located here

If this is not there look on the install DVD to see if there is an installation program for the Newblue Titler FX and run it if present.

Ha! Thanks, John. Problem solved.

Yes, NewBlue was on the DVD. I just presumed everything would be installed at once. But I had to go back into the disc and install Titler separately. NOW it's showing up in my effects tab. Putzed with it for a few and seems to be working fine. To clarify, yes, the Nvidia is already installed and NewBlue asked if I wanted to use that as my default. So it all seems good to go. Again, your help is very much appreciated.

Maybe this thread will help others (like me, a bit technically challenged) in the future.
