Think preview is consuming more cpu making it slower and choppy. Is it only me?

Well, that certainly is not true for me. I can confirm the update is consuming much more cpu for preview. I went back to the previous version and checked a simple clip with just one effect (speed x4). The clip ran smooth in preview with the bottom left corner cpu indicator at 10-20%. The same clip stuttered in the updated version and indicated cpu usage at 85-95%. Same clip, same machine. As the update is not working for me I'm hoping for a fix.

I am getting the opposite CPU usage 50 - 65% with very smooth, ie greatly improved, playback of 4K video on the timeline with no proxy files on my 4th generation Intel CPU.
Check your program settings - this is a major update, ie a total replace of the previous version, and settings such as Hardware Acceleration for Preview are turned off and custom folder paths reset to the default locations.

Hi. I'm still new to all this. How do I activate the new effects such as ProDaD Vitascene in this release please. I get activation code boxes with no codes I'm aware of to active them. Also I seem to have a copy of Magix Music maker as well. Is this a demo or do I need yet more activation codes?

Hmm, I didn't have to turn on hw acceleration in the previous version. Just checked settings/program and it was turned on by default. I'd like to give it a try but now help/update onnlien won't find the update anymore?! Any tips how to try the update again?

I think they are saying the following. You bought in June and received plugins and effects 1-3. There is now an update with plugins and effects 4-6. If you download the updated version of MEP using the update service, you will still have access to plugins and effects 1-3 in the update, but you will not have access to the new plugins and effects 4-6 that come with purchases of the update, unless you separately buy those new plugins and effects.

this is strange.... Today I'we got a mail from Magix, "the 2019 version of Movie Edit Pro is out! ". Nowhere in the magix web I can find anything regarding version 19 ???
Only this thread "Today, we released the new Movie Edit Pro: version 18.0.1.203".
What is going on here ????

18 is the version number
Like years ago.
I like the update so far. Although the first attempt to upgrade failed and the update downloaded itself 3 times. Then I had to download the content. I wasted hours to get it up and running and checking if all addons i bought were good to go. I set language to Netherlands and the object move context text is Italian.
The manual doesnt seem to be updated. Nothing about the new functions. How to use the new stuff?
Overall I like the product, nice stuff!

Read through the following thread and you will see some of the problems that have been noted.

The main problem is the lack of documentation of new features, and nothing that we can find in the program about the new 3D titles or the Chromakey features. The manual that comes with MEP2019 is for MEP2018.
The new import commands and the track management command are a good addition, but again, documentation is needed.

I see that Patch 205 has been issued and the fixes for crashes is quite disconcerting. These are problems that should have been caught and corrected before issuing the new version.
As you can see from my post above, there are more bugs.
Here are a couple more problems:
1. Startup screen - Load existing project is always blank and there is nothing in the pop-down. EDIT: There is an issue which occurs once the Recent file list in the videodeluxe.ini file reaches more than 10 entries. It would also be more useful if they were listed in reverse order, i.e. newest to oldest.
2. Templates screen - on my Surface Pro 4, same problem that I raised for VPX - cannot use the vertical scroll that is to the left of the list. Instead, a double-arrow shows up to resize the window.
3. No updated manual, either pdf or chm
4. Professional title animations - cannot find anything about this new feature
5. Chroma key for everyone - cannot find anything about this new feature
6. External audio editor - right-clicking on the audio part of a video clip does not bring up the possibility of editing it in an external editor. It used to and should.
7. External audio editor - AML and ACL return errors, VSCL returns nothing. Only ME3 and Samplitude Pro X3 work properly.

When we install a new version, we lost all modifications in parameters (reset).
It is very time consuming to change it again, some can be very important.
And we need to think about it.
Is it possible to have the possibility to keep (without reset) the parameters as we set up?

Hi Daniel,
+1 This is an irritant.
However, you can copy your Videodeluxe.ini from somewhere like below:
C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Videodeluxe24_plus
to the new folder:
C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Videodeluxe25_premium
or whatever yours is. First, make a copy of the ini file that is there and then replace it with the old one.
If you create window views, they are saved as .pmly files. You can also copy these over.
I did this with VPX and didn't notice any problems.

There is an issue which occurs once the Recent file list in the videodeluxe.ini file reaches more than 10 entries. This would suggest the the program is not behaving as previous versions where the recent list was restricted to 8 (10 ?) entries with the oldest being dropped and replaced by the latest project.
It would also be more useful if they were listed in reverse order ie newest to oldest.

9. MultiCam - audio on Track 2 seems to create transitions when exiting (see French forum).
10. proDAD Heroglyph - causes MEP2019 to restart.
11. Edit - resolved, not a problem - Chapters - seems to be a problem with chapters not starting at the correct location on a burned DVD/BR

PC is back up and running after fitting new power pack!
Item 9 - Multicam - no issues with this tested with 3 tracks, 3 times with different videos each time
Item 10 - Heroglyph - mine just hangs after selecting what to create and click Next, requires using Task Manager to kill task.
Item 11 - Chapters - no issues - tested with 2 different length projects adding 6 chapters in each at varying time intervals, all chapters played from correct location in both discs on PC and BD player
Here is an oddity that I am seeing (since MEP 2018) despite the 3 effects being downloaded and installed this still occurs:
