@Craigster

I just had this happen in a project and a couple of dozen clips were affected. Thanks for bringing this to the attention of Magix. I added it to the list as number 27.

Hi John

This happened to me this morning, if someone can replicate the issue, then it is another bug:

Starting with a project with proxy files turned on

  1. add about 10 video clips (in my case they were mp4's) and allow proxy files to be created.
  2. duplicate a some of the of clips
  3. Save the project
  4. on the duplicated clips
    a. restore the original audio
    b. ungroup the video and delete it leaving the audio

Now try playing the same clips from the Media pane - mine lost audio, the audio played OK in the timeline for both the proxy audio and the restored audio clips.

After some testing it looks like the issue is MEP has lost the 'link' to the proxy files for the clips when played from the media pane.

The workaround was to turn off proxy file creation in the project settings, close the project, delete all the proxy files.

Reloading the project and not using proxy files the audio plays fine on the timeline and from the media pane.

Hope this makes sense!

Hi John,

Can you confirm that this is for VPX, as you mention MEP in the text?

Thanks,

Hi John

I am puzzled as to why the post appeared in the VPX forum - I definitely put it in the MEP patch topic. Since posting the above I have had the same thing happen twice, one I caught quickly, the other not. Makes me wonder if there is an issue with Firefox when multiple tabs are open - I have been having other unrelated issues with FF Quantum 65.0.2 (64 bit).

I have not tested the project in VPX, it has been a pain trying to get it finished in MEP - it is not that complicated a project, however I am already up to version 12 of it and currently it is stable in MEP so do not want to risk it yet in VPX.

@MAGIX_Redaktion @ralftaro

Mathias and Ralf,

Please see this thread for the updated bug list. There have been negative comments with all of the patch threads started by Mathias, and many more threads started by others raising bug issues. Getting some action from Magix on the main ones has been an exercise in frustration. I have submitted multiple tickets with the list, compiled with the help of other users, updated each time and I have received replies that Magix is working on these. However, 6 months for some of these is far too long. Please shake up the developers.

Denial of the use of Xara and the external audio editors with VPX is not acceptable.

Thanks,

John CB
