I was wondering if music maker would work with the Steven Slate drums plugin? If so how do you set it up? Is there a trial version of this software I can test out before buying it so I can make sure that these two software programs will work together the way I need them to.

The core Music Maker program is free so no trial version is needed or available. However, in order to be able to use your SS Drums you need the facility to be able to add VSTs and VSTis to the program; this comes only with the purchase of either the "More Tracks and Features" add-on, or of one of the upgraded variants, either Plus or Premium.
The advice here is always to go for the Premium variant, since then you have "everything" the program offers and Magix does offer a 30 day refund policy should you find the program does not do what you want.

Jeff is right I would like to buy it because I have Premium myself the last edition is good and it works perfectly with Vst and Vsti.
