Exporting Files..

Hi there,

I'm using MEP16+ & when I usually export my videos for youtube I usually export them as .wmv format with 90% quality to keep the file size down, whilst not comprising too much on the quality.

However a friend told me that its better to export them in .mp4 format using h.264 as you can get much smaller file sizes whilst keeping very good quality. I did try this using MEP but the video turned out black & white at times and the video itself appeared to skip as if it wasn't in sync with the sound. I'm guessing my options were messed up & I can't figure it out.

Can anyone give me a few steps on how to properly export videos using the MP4 h.264 format please to get smaller file size whilst keeping good quality?

Videos were recorded in 1920x1080 25fps & I think the bitrate on the camcorder is set at around 15000kbps..

Many thanks in advance for any help. This type of this isn't my strongest point.

Hi,

This is a much discussed subject as you'll find if you use the Search tool on the right with a target of YouTube.

But as a start you might try my normal settings for MP4 exports. I use these for occasional uploads on the YT site and results are reasonable.
