Can you save your web site design, to an external drive, to allow you to publish from a different computer, later? I am designing on one computer, but, due to diverse reasons, will publish from a different location and different computer
Thank you JohnEB, grateful for the prompt reply. The link to the article provides me with an answer to a question I was going to ask later.
However, I don't want to edit on another machine. Scenario: I have XARA MAGIX WEB DESIGNER on my Desktop PC at Location 1; but there is no internet access at this location (Location 1). I have access to another Desktop PC at a different location (Location 2), with a Fast Internet connection. There is no XARA WEB DESIGNER on that Desktop. I don't want to edit, I just want to transfer what I have designed, either by External Hard Drive or USB to the second Desktop PC to be able to publish to my Domain at another Hosting Company. So, can I save on external drive, and export from another PC without Web Designer? Or must XARA MAGIX WEB DESIGNER also be installed on the Desktop PC at Location 2 as well?
Hope this helps to explain my situation, and would be grateful for your assistance in how to resolve this.
. . . . I have access to another Desktop PC at a different location (Location 2), with a Fast Internet connection. There is no XARA WEB DESIGNER on that Desktop . . . .
Thanks for the clarification .
Once you have Previewed the site in Web Designer and everything is OK select File, Export, in the dialog that opens select the folder where you want to export the site to and ensure that the circled options below are as shown and click Export - you should now have the complete site ready to FTP on the second PC.
Copy the destination folder to the USB drive and upload the contents of the folder to your site.
