Export project to a different computer

Hello,

I have built a project with Magix Video Premium, which includes more than one hundred components including videos, music, voice overs etc.

I want to edit it with a different computer using Magix Video Premium as well, but after copying the whole carpet in the new location, the opening of the mpv file gives missing files errors..

I can specifiy the location of the file but the program wouldn't agree to take it into account and still displays the same error.

I tried with a directory saved on the local network and the local HDD as well.

What am I missing?

Are the full folder paths to the video clips on both PC's absolutely identical?

For each file type you may be prompted several times to point the program to the new location of the files and also for any effects if the program installations folder paths and structures are not identical.

I do this regularly between my PC and laptop however the folder paths and subfolder structures must be identical.

For example:

On my PC, the project and video files etc are in a subfolder of Documents\MAGIX, however the true path is W:\MAGIX - W:being the second HDD in my PC and the Documents folder is remapped to be the W: drive.

In the program the project folder location is set to W:\MAGIX
On my laptop which only has one drive the Magix folder has an identical subfolder structure and its true location is C:\Users\John\Documents\MAGIX

However I have mapped a network drive to the Documents folder with the drive letter W: and the program Project folder path is set to W:\MAGIX

With this setup I can move projects easily between the PC and laptop in either direction without issues.

Thank you very much for your help.

Unfortunately, after setting an exactly identical path on both computers (which was not an easy task since they were user folders) the same error showed again.

BUT...

I finally found the solution. The project contained some .mov files which required Quicktime to be installed along with Magix. The newest computer didn't have it and that was the reason why the project wouldn't open.

i am happy to report that after installing Quicktime, Magix opens the project folder anywhere on the computer and on the local network.
