Error when opening Magix: cannot find the name Intel lCD OpenGL Driver

vince-jordan wrote on 1/16/2017, 1:12 PM

Using 2016 Audio cleaning lab on Windows 10, when I open the program I get this message:Cannot find the name Intel lCD OpenGL Driver & it will not open. Not sure if this is a Magix error or Windows, have uninstalled Magix & downloaded again but still the same. I would be gratefull for any guidance.-VJ

Hi there,

Please make sure both your graphics/chipset drivers, as well as your installation of Cleaning Lab are up-to-date. This is basically a compatibility issue between your graphics hardware/driver and the GUI technology used in the more current Cleaning Lab generations. If you're not getting on, or if you just wanted the quickest solution possible, I put together a little fix that will switch any of those current Cleaning Lab versions into a more compatible graphics rendering mode. Please download, unpack and run it from the following link:

I hope this helps!

Does this 'fix' alter the Magix program -- or does it alter my computer's system files or drivers? I ask because Magix online support says there is no patch for this program (and then they suggest this same file). Also because Windows defender sees it as coming from an unidentified source and warns against it.
I have enjoyed using ACL for several years but NOT enough to risk any unintended consequences or corruption to my new system.
So I am hesitant to install it til I know what it does.
Thanks for any clarification you can offer.

Hello Paul,

I believe I already replied to you via support. Just in case: The fix exclusively alters a configuration file for your MAGIX program(s). It does not change anything in your operating system or graphics drivers. The generic security warning just comes up because this is an executable that doesn't have any specific Microsoft signature. You can ignore it. This is an official fix from us, hosted on our servers. There's no risk to your system.

I hope this info helps!

THANKS -
I did get your reply but that is the one question it did not address.
Or if it did I missed it,
Your comment here DOES answer my question and it is the answer I had hoped for.
Forgive my confusion.  Magix online search said there were no patches for the program so I concluded that the 'fix' must be altering my system.  In this case I am glad to be mistaken.
Thank you again for your reply both here and by email and please disregard my follow-up email relating to this specific question.
