@Marcus-Galiber

Hi

We need more information, to help diagnose the issue(s) you are having:

The specification of your computer system including Windows version and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full, and also what monitor/screen resolution(s) you are working with if this is a laptop.

I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Please quote the error message in full or provide screen shots.

Check the Windows Reliability monitor to see if there are any crashes for Movie Studio recorded, if so post a screen shot of the error message - see this short tutorial on how to use the Reliability monitor.

Are the graphics card/integrated GPU drivers up to date?

A screen shot of the Program settings, Device options tab  would help.

What video format, codec and resolution are you exporting to and have you changed any of the presets setttings?

Thank you so much for the information. I am not the most savvy person, so I am going to try and post the information based on what I was reading.Image removed by Moderator - CPU is Intel i7-6700HQ

@Marcus-Galiber Hi, to capture a picture of the screen -

Hold down the Windows key + Shift + S all at the same time.

The screen will go dark & these buttons will appear at the top of the screen where you can choose to capture full screen or just a selection. The capture image will show in Notifications bottom right of the screen so you can save it somewhere.

If you go to the bottom of the screen to the Taskbar, Right click & open Taskmanager, enlarge the window so it shows the GPU (graphics card) at the bottom, share that picture. Like this -

In Magix open File - Settings - Program (Or click Y on the keyboard). Go to Device options & share that image, Like this -

The media you're using might be an issue, so there's an App called MediaInfo, download it, it's free & a fast download with no added adverts or any of that rubbish. https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo
After downloading, right click on the media file in your Windows folder, open MediaInfo, choose Text from the options at the top, Copy & paste the information in a new comment on here 👍

Hi Marcus.

Welcome to the user to user help forums.

From your images I can see your files are either stored on OneDrive or you are trying to write to a One Drive storage account. Possibly both.

If that is cloud storage and where the video files for your project are stored and being read from or written to then that is your export problem. The files must reside and be written to either an internal drive on your laptop or a fast external USB SATA or USB connected Solid State drive. Reading from any form of SD or similar memory card would also not work.

That is the most probable cause as on line and memory card storage does not allow large parallel blocks of data to be processed fast enough in the read write cycles necessary during the export process.

Then there is in your export settings.

It states a custom setting has been used. If you have altered some part of the export setting and got a non working setting such as using custom numbers for maximum and minimum bit rates that are not devisable by four, that would cause such an abortive export attempt. I only put that as a second probable cause although such mistakes normally results in a file with zero bytes and not an abortive export.

Ray.

@CubeAce Hi, it depends if he's logged in, all my files on (C) drive say OneDrive but I'm not logged in to OneDrive, so that is just a folder on my PC & there's no online syncing, I have no problem with export etc.. I do agree tho about memory cards, or if he's trying to do an online thingy..

Ray, try it. The program won't accept that. For example, type in 6115 and see what (doesn't) happen.

I really wish this idea that you can't/shouldn't change the export presets was put to bed. I never use the preset bitrates as they are way too high IMO. I never have any trouble with exports, on multiple (including dinosaur) computers.

@Former user

Off topic, but that Mediainfo report (or the file) looks borked to me. The overall BR is 783kb/s, the video BR is 39.3Mb/s.

All my forum comments are based on or refer to my System 1.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

@AAProds Yep prob, It's a 1fr vid my GoPro created, no idea how or why but I like it so I've haven't deleted it yet 👍

This what looks like in Vegas

It's not even a full frame, the red bit on the end is Vegas's 'Show Unquantized Frame Edges'

Hi

Do you log on to your computer using your Microsoft account, possibly your email address?

@Former user - OT however, the 1 frame vid is typical of a timelapse capture being started then cancelled before the second frame was captured.

Trying this one step at a time. I moved all of the video files out of myDropbox and back onto my hard drive. I had to identify where they were in the video storyline. Now the video will not play and if I try to render the movie, I still get the error code.

@Former user

Hi Gid.

I did write

If that is cloud storage and where the video files for your project are stored

and am aware that if the Dropbox folder is on a drive in the PC that it is not a problem.

@AAProds

Hi Al.

Slight typo on my account. The line should have read

that could cause such an abortive export attempt.

and not "that would cause such an abortive export attempt".

My explanation of the divisible by four rule of thumb (IMHO) does not come from Magix directly. It comes from other read material on how not to overly stress the computations during a render. On a curious coincidence you will notice all the Magix export Preset numbers for minimum and maximum bit rates are all divisible by four on those that allow such settings. One reason I felt it was a less likely cause.

At no point did I even hint that settings could not be changed or suggest the computer specs were at fault.

Where that doesn't hold true is the setting for the CPB setting (kByte) which upon re-reading the manual may be the main culprit in this instance as I am still unaware as to why Marcus's export setting shows it is custom. I have no idea what was altered that may have caused a problem at this point.

Here is the page and section in question.

@Marcus-Galiber

To move files used in a project (in my opinion and personal experience) you should use the Backup Copy option from within the program to transfer the project.

Then find the project file folder and open the project using the MVP file there.

But can you show the export settings you used in the advanced section please similar to the example below?

Are your source files MP4 1920 by 1080 pixels or something else?

Are the files now on your C: drive?

If not where are they?

How much free space is on the C: drive?

Ray.
