Hi,

Here is what the manual for MM2013 basic says:

'This setting enlarges the display of the loops in the Soundpool view of the Media Pool. The keyboard is also shown with a larger display. This makes it easier to use MAGIX Music Maker 2013 on touchscreens."

Shortcut is Tab. Try it and look at what happens to the Media Pool. That's all there is to it.

After reading your question I checked the internet (as I do not own this product) and from the PDF manual of MMM 2013 premium found the following which may help you:

Page 223 Press F11 key for Standard layout. Page 224 Press F2 Key for hide or display the Media Pool

Page 20 The arranger, video monitor and Media Pool can be positioned anywhere on the screen or completely hidden. In the "View" menu (F11 key) you can reset the standard layout for Music Maker. The maximize buttons on the arranger, the video monitor and the Media Pool let you display them on the full. Refer screens shot of the same page. (check the view menu may be you find the solution)

Thanks for the effort, but I don't think any of that has to do with whether there is, or isn't, an Easy Mode.  I had done a search of the documentation, and there where only two mentions of it, but only in a different context.  I tried these switches, but they do not produce the desired result.

The reason I ask is because there are fewer tools on the toolbar than I've been accustomed to in earlier versions.

I looked through the list of keyboard shortcuts, but there's nothing there.  But, I did find this...

"The user interface and the workflow have been improved and simplified."

That may explain it.  There is no "Easy Mode"....they just "simplified" everything.  Not an improvement, in my opinion.

However, I see they did include some legal information about commercial use at the very end of the manual.  Unfortunately, almost no one actually reads the manual  (except us).

The correct answer is what I gave you, straight out of the manual. TAB chages the interface for use on touch screen, that is it makes things larger, but only in the Media Pool. In MMM2015, TAB was expanded to also reduce the number of visible tracks and makes them larger vertically. This is what Magix means by "Easy mode." It is easier to use your fingers. There is no "Advanced mode."

I can post screen shots if you would like to see the differences.

In Samplitude Music Studio, before 2015, there were different modes: "Easy" and "Power User." They reduced or increased the number of buttons and tools on the screen. But this was different from MMM.

In 2015, Magix changed the interface in SMS to accommodate touch screens, by adding in tabbed pages corresponding to workflow and presenting only the buttons required for the current process.

I often have the F1 manual open in these programs as there is so much to know and understand, and I can't remember it all and I haven't read everything.

I was using my tablet. Computer is now on.

Here are the Standard mode and Easy mode screen shots for MMM2015Premium.

Standard mode shows almost 10 tracks and a lot of detail in the Soundpools at the bottom.

Easy mode shows 5 tracks and presents less information on the screen at the bottom with larger/higher soundpool buttons.

I used TAB to go from one to the other. Easy mode is also called zoom view and there is a button for it.

Here is the definition in the Help manual for Easy mode:

This setting enlarges the display of the loops in the Soundpool view of the Media Pool. The keyboard and menu items are also shown with a larger display. This makes it easier to use MAGIX Music Maker 2015 Premium on touchscreens.

Keyboard shortcut: Tab key
