Driver issue after successful install and use for a week

Darwinite wrote on 5/14/2013, 9:23 AM

I've been using full version Magix Music Maker 2013 v19.03.47 (on Win7, HP laptop) for about a week with the Magix Low Latency (MLL) 2011 driver and selected in the ASIO driver dropdown of the Audio/midi tab of Program Settings.

Tonight, when I opened the program and wanted to playback my music that I worked on successfully over the week, somehow:
- the midi tracks played on my system's speakers,
- while concurrently other Soundpool objects played through my headset.

I've turned the PC off and on again and even reset the drivers by selecting various other drivers and then back to the MLL driver but no luck. I'm getting the various tracks split by the soundcard depending on their type.

Would anyone have any suggestions to this issue?

Thanks

I've just installed the latest software update, 19.05.5.57, and now I only have the AIOA4All v2 (1+2) driver (ie. no MML) available in the drop down.

Though this didn't fix the problem and I no longer think the problem is with the driver.

The file that I tried to open seems to have lost instrument attributes of the MIDI tracks just comming up as:

Instr: MIDI OUT > No VSTi

It should have been coming up as:

Instr: VSTi 1: Vita ....

Is this due to file corruption?

Thanks

Not sayng  this is your fix, just something to check on.....Everytime you open Magix, you might want to spend a minute or two and open up the Program pane ( P key) and make sure all athe options you want are correctly set before you start...especially if you will be doing something more than just baasic stuff....and if you start to deviate from the basic stuff because you are bored or want to experiment, again, check all athe program settings first.....sometimes the little devils change all by theyselves...can yu believe it ?

Thanks for taking the time to respond, Gnarly.

It must have been file corruption of some sort. I had an earlier save of the file, fortunately, which still plays just fine. I was experimenting with the grouping feature in the second file, that is now corrupt.

So now I'm wondering if the grouping caused some issues.

You know, if you are really into your music and you are progressing with your knowledage of Magix, don't assume that you can just go off to neverneverland with your valuaable composistion.  I have back-up music files that I "experiment" on before I use my "best work" and then ,sadly, find myself in a fix.  Voice of experience
