@knowledgebey Music Studio 12 Deluxe has no serial number. You just need the CD in your CD drive at the first start-up and it will be unlocked. That's why there is no download. You NEED the CD.

It will only run on Windows XP. The copy protection does not work under newer Windows operating systems and the program will not start.

If you don't have a Windows XP computer you can install it in virtual Windows XP machine in VMware Player. But you also need an USB audio interface with ASIO drivers that will run under XP to get an acceptable performance, for example a Roland Quad Capture.

The best idea is to get Samplitude Music Studio 2022. It is 15 years younger, runs on current Windows systems and it has more features and instruments than the old version.

The only features missing in newer Samplitude Music Studio versions are the audio repair and restoration features which are now a part of Sound Forge Audio Cleaning Lab.

My cd Dvd drive doesn't work on that computer I'm putting it on. I try to make a ISO file for it but every time I open it up it freezes. Just like it's looking for the CD drive to open it. And it does work on Windows 7 believe it or not you got to have it on the 32 version or if you have it on the 64 version you got to click the button in the setup to where you have to have 64 be able to install 32-bit. And then when you go to install it you got the right click and tell it to do compatibility XP second version. I was just trying to see if there was a way to install it without it having the CD drive. I'm going to have to buy an external CD drive and do it then I guess. Good looking for the response though and I just have to get used to the newer version you know how you don't want to teach a old dog new tricks LOL. Yes the Samplitude version isn't nice I'm going to start getting into the version.

Check me out at YouTube.com/knowledgebey an all recorded with Magic Studio Deluxe 12

@knowledgebey The GUI changed a little compared to version 2007 (aka 12), but the program works more or less the same. You don't need to relearn much.

Yes, you can install 12 on Windows 7 and even in Windows 10, but the copy protection is not compatible with these operating systems. I believe it is ProtectDisc 7. It always says to insert the disc or that the 64 bit driver wasn't able to load. I tried to disable the need for signed drivers on Windows 10 in gpedit.msc but it didn't help. Maybe this works on Windows 7 but I don't have a Windows 7 computer right now to try it.

It definitely needs a patch to run under Windows Vista. I have this patch backed up, but I'm not sure it will work for non-german versions. It's possible it will change the language to German. I couldn't get it to run on later Vista versions though. I would guess that the copy protection broke after Microsoft introduced the requirement of a driver signing certificate to run drivers.

In the past I only tried it on 64 bit Windows, not on 32 bit Windows, so I'm not 100% sure.

The previous version, Magix Music Studio 2006 (aka 11), uses a different copy protection and Audio Studio 2006 runs fine on modern Windows systems but MIDI studio 2006 can freeze easily on start-up depending on your audio hardware and MIDI ports.

Thanks.... I have a computer with 7 32 an it works fine. I just need to get off the old man dependency lol an mess with the newer versions. The new plugins need the new version anyways. Thanks for all the replays.
