Does Magix Music Maker Premium 2015 support 3rd party VST plug-ins?

Specifically, Isotope Nectar 2? It is properly installed on my PC and working fine with my DAW. If I try to add it to VST Instruments pointing to either the 32-bit or 64-bit Steinberg/VSTPlugins folder nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong or is this combination simply not possible with Music Maker?

Hi,

Yes, they work. Try a free one to see.

I don't know about Isotope Nectar 2; too rich for my wallet. I believe that it should work with the 32 bit plugin. Note that the Pitch Editor plugin that comes with the suite won't work with Samplitude, so it won't work with Music Maker.

If you have Music Studio that may have come with Music Maker, try it with that.

Just another thought, make sure that you installed the VST and not VST3 plugin. MMM doesn't handle the latter.

Got it working. VST plug-in is available in track effects in Mixer. I was looking for it in VST Instruments in the Media Pool. Thanks for help.

Now I understand why you had a problem. Izotope Nectar 2 is not an instrument, which is why it doesn't show up under instruments in the Media Pool.

It would be interesting to hear back how you use Nectar 2 and how you like it.

Out of curiosity, which DAW are you using?

Yeah, John, that makes sense. I've been using Nectar 2 for a while in Adobe Audition. Too new to Music Maker to know whether or not it makes to sense for my workflow to use Nectar 2 wihin Music Maker. It's nice to know I can. Thanks, again.
