I have Movie Edit Pro MX Plus, purchased 9/2011. It has the latest updates. Does Magix Burning Routine (2010) apply to me? Also, the description for the Burning Routines mention problems burnng DVD or CD. What about BD?
I doubt whether the 2010 Burning Routines has any relevance to MEP MX Plus because, if I remember correctly, it was not released until 2011.
However, have you asked the question because you are experiencing problems burning to DVD or BD, or are you simpy trying to prevent any problem in the future? FWIW, I have MEP MX Premium and VPX4; both burn to Image file without any problem. I then use a 3rd party burning program to produce the actual DVD or BD.
No problems burning DVD. I am having problems with burning BD-R and BD-RE (Verbatim). And problems are intermitent - works, then don't with same settings with BD-R and BD-RE. Are you using 3rd party software because of problems with MX?

If your "results" are intermittent, I would question the media you are using. I've used BD-R and BD-RE by Memorex and, so far at least, never suffered any "bad burns".
The reason I choose to burn from a disc image is simply so that I can, without any hassle, easily burn any additional copies of the DVD/BD that I might be asked for. I have successfully burned DVDs directly from MEP (though only with an earlier version, ?14?) I suppose I've simply become "used" to a particular workflow (edit and export in VPX/MEP, burn in 3rd party software.)
I've been experimenting and found that I can't get a successful BD burn if I add sound (music) to the Menu. I tried it several times with and without sound and I get consistant results. I get the same results burning with MX PLus, and also with Ashampoo Burning Studio 11 (using "Encode in Directory" in MX plus). Sound is ok in the videos - the problem is just the sound in the Menu. With menu sound, the process looks normal and I get a "burning complete" message. But when I play it in my player, all I get is a blank screen with no sounds. I've been burning with "Blu-ray 1920 x 1080i NTSC", H.264 settings. Any suggestions?
