Does just any keyboard work for Magix Music Maker?

Stormfox wrote on 12/14/2014, 7:32 PM

Hello, this is very new to me and I'm hoping to get some answers from those here with better knowledge in the program than I do.

I had gotten Magix MM 15 several months back. While I love the software itself, I am wanting to buy myself a keyboard and just hook it up to the computer.

However I wasn't sure if that even works to even make my own midi files. If just getting a regluar keyboard doesn't work what am I looking to get?

Sorry if the question seems dumb or not well versed. Again I'm very new to the whole thing and i'm really interesting in making my own stuff easier.

Hi and welcome to the Community,

Look under the Tutorials tab and you will find ways to connect a keyboard.

Do a search here in Q&A using Keyboard as the search word and you will find many examples of different keyboards that people connect to their computer. Look under the Forum tab and navigate to the Music Maker discussion area and go through the various threads to learn more.

Read the manual that comes with the program.

Which version of Music Maker do you have, version 15 or 2015? There is a big difference.

You will need a keyboard that outputs midi to a USB interface to connect to a computer. The size of of the keyboard (number of keys) depends on what you want to do, your playing skill, and your budget.
