Hi,

I have never heard of a movie edit pro version that only works with video and not photographs.  What happens when you try to drag a .jpg file into either the timeline or the sceneline?

If you are importing standard jpeg, bmp, etc you should have no problem.  If you are trying to import files in the RAW format that could be a problem.

I have not yet seen a trial download for the new product Movie Edit Pro 2013.

Hello George, Thanks for taking the time to respond... Magix Movie Edit pro 17HD is what they sold me.edit your videos like a pro...it tells us..I wanted to use still photos not movie camera ....We will look at the info you sent and perhaps we did the wrong things with the format before we tried..???

Nothing happens when i try to bring photos down on the timeline.NOTHING...at all....  we have spent 2 weeeks playing with this program..and have given up now... I have downloaded the free trial on Photoshop now...so that will be better for me...it seems to work well so far...(for a novice)

Thanks foryour help......Marg.

Hi Marg,

You could try this.  Go to file, settings, program

When the settings dilogue box opens, click the system tab on the top, then in the bottom left corner under import formats, make sure to click "select all" then OK

Then open a folder with photos in it, Selct 2 or 3, even 1 will do

Then drag them to either the time line or sceneline it does not really matter.

There is really no reason why this would not work.

Hi Marguerita

What is the make and model of the digital camera or the file extension of the pictures, ie the three letters after the full stop in the filename.

If you cannot see the file extension - right click one of the images and select Properties from the little menu that opens - on the General tab you will see the words Type of file  followed by the information we need.

Hi

I presume that is the Panasonic Lumix FS30.

First you have to do a little preparatory work -

Copy the photos from the camera to a folder on your computer, a good place will be in the folder called My Photos -consult your vamera manual for how to do this if you do not know.

Start Movie Edit Pro and on the import tab find the folder where you put the photos.

Drag a few of the images onto the timeline / storyboard depending on how MEP display is set - they should appear as shown in the images below - note the buttons highlighted on the left below the preview monitor which switch the display mode

In story board mode

  In timeline mode

Hope this helps getting you started.

I taught digital photography to 'seniors' for 6 years - it certainly does keep the brain alive not only theirs but mine too.
