Do I need an upgrade when going from Windows XP to Windows 7?

I just upgraded my computer from windows Xp to windows 7 and am experiencing some problems.  I have Music Maker MX and getting numerous pop ups telling me I can't do things. I'm having difficulty getting my new arrangement to record and when I can there is no audio while recording.  Is there some upgrade I need to proceed?  Help please

Hi

There is no need to upgrade Music Maker MX will run OK on  Windows 7 with no problems similarly on Windows 8.

Have you updated MX to the last patch version that was available for it - v18.0.4.1?
