I am using Magix Music Maker 2013 as a recording and sound editing studio for my music and Suddenly all distortion efects have stopped working, when I apply an effect the object no longer creates any sound when played back. Clearly the most annoying thing to go wrong for a rock guitarist, right?! I did the unthinkable and voluntarily installed an upgrade (something I rarely do, for when I like a piece of software I am a luddite and stick with it till the bitter end...), but even this has not fixed it. I can't remember when this problem started, it was a propos nothing. I remember using the "fat metal guitar" effect on one of my tracks and it worked fine. Next time I wanted to use it it didn't. There are a couple of very poor sounding distortion pre-set effects that still work, but the effects rack also "doesn't do" distortion any longer. I have been using Magix Music Maker 2013 since August 2015 on my Toshiba Laptop with Windows 7 and so far this has not been an issue.
