Difference between Movie Edit versions explained ?

whodoesnt wrote on 10/24/2012, 1:50 PM

I can see three versions of the video edit software "Movie Edit" being displayed for sale on the magix website.

Then I see the letters MX in the title on some boxes sold elsewher.. Bestbuy etc etc..

What exact version would you recommend, if I previously had Movie Edit Pro 2004 version 3.0.2.0 ?

Hi,

Movie Edit Pro 2013 is the current version.  Boxed sofware on a shelf may be an older version.  Here is where you can see a comparison of the three current versions.  http://www.magix.com/us/movie-edit-pro/   if you are in doubt about which version to buy, I would suggest the "Premium" as you get many more "extra" features that if you are serious about editing you will wish you had in short order and the cost to get those features will be huge by comparison if you buy them later.  I don't work for Magix, so I really don't care which version you buy, but save yourself a lot of money and buy the premium version.

Good Luck

Hi,

This is a user forum, not a sales forum.  A coupon code? Do a google search on "Magix Cupons" and see what it brings.

Good Luck

Hi

There is a product comparison of MEP 2013 here

MEP MX was version 18 of the MEP family.  Do be aware if you buy and older version eg 17 and earlier that support may be limited.

Try the trial download first - I would recommend you get the Premium version - you do not have to pay extra for some codecs etc.
