Dark areas of video appear "automatically lightened" in Magix 2016 premium during editing and after exporting.

So Basically,

The Story: My Magix movie edit pro 2013 premium "stopped responding" I checked for updates and averything was up to date on PC and Magix. I couln't find anything else that would help. So I thought now (last week) would be a good time to udgrade to Windows 10. All went well, and as I suspected, Magix 2013 wouldn't work on Windows 10. So I bought Magix 2016 premium. Installed fine, works fine.... . .  ish. As I started testing videos, I noticed the issue.

The Issue: The dark areas are appearing to be lightened up by defult, creating artifacts within those areas. the rest of the image is also a lower quality then what I used to get. But not as noticable as the dark areas.

I have exported videos for testing under AVI, Uncompressed And MPEG-4 (these are the 3 I use) All of which have the same issue.

The System: Lest week: Windows 7, 64bit, Magix 2013 premium. Now: Windows 10, 64 bit, Magix 2016 premium. All PC componants are the same.

Am I missing an update?? Has anyone else had this issue?? Or one like it?? Suggestions??

 Any questions, just ask.

  Thanks reading this :-)

This is most likely the Windows 10 upgrade messing up the drivers for the graphics card / chipset you are using - I have had this a couple of times when an update has messed up the Intel graphics drivers.

Reinstall both MEP 2013 and 2016 using this procedure.

NOTE in step 2 clear out the folders for both versions of MEP before progressing to step 3

If you are using a NVidia or AMD graphics card also check for updated drivers compatible with Windows 10.
