I have been using movie edit for years. When I would cut video it would leave a gap. Now all of a sudden it snaps the cut footage together. How do I undo this (no idea what I may have done). I would like it to leave the gap. When it snaps the footage together, all my audio and subtitles become misaligned. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@scott-g You're being tripped up by the mouse mode. Check the buttons along the top of the timeline towards the left of centre. Single-object mouse mode will do what you want: leave a gap after a cut and delete. The other mouse modes, "track" and "all tracks", will close the gap when you delete the cut bit.

I truly hope that you have watched my tutorial in which I show exactly what @AAProds mentioned. You need to learn what these basic editing tools (mouse modes and trimming tools) do and how to use them. I fear that you will just avoid mouse modes as a result of Alwyn giving away the answer without you understanding what is happening and being able to use this to your advantage..
