Cut and Paste

I have Magix audio cleaning Lab MX 18.0.0.9 (DC). I am trying to duplicate and repeat a section of a recording so as to increase the length of that section. I need to delete a small portion of this sections (at the end or at the beginning) so that there smooth transitions. This should entail cutting and pasting.

I have an old version of Magix audio cleaning Lab and have not had any problems performing these tasks in the past, but with MX 18 it been a nightmare. I have watched the tutorials for MX 18. Read the help sections of 18. Looked at online tutorials for Magix and persuaded the Magix communities. With all of this I have not really figure out what to do.

I have played a rounded with this for some time and finally got two sections( or two objects) connected together with a smooth transition, but I really do not know how I did it! The only thing I can say is that when I finally highlighted an area and left or right clicked (in the scissor mode) on it a sub window would open (that the way I did it in old version) but this window did give the option the cut like old version(the window has no crossfade as the top selection). But one time it worked the sub window gave the option to cut??? Can someone instruct what I am doing wrong?

Also can someone tell how select the 2 sections together (or two objects) so I can copy and paste to four section together (four objects) etc.

I am trialing version 22 and there are copy an paste buttons after 'cut' (scissors) and 'delete' (X). Nevertheless I have always just used keyboard shortcuts of CTRL C and CTRL V to cut and paste (pastes at cursor) however I could never highlight two sections...

Thanks for your input. Using “CUT “and ” INSERT” I finally solved my problem.

I don't have an old version on my computer, but from what I recall, pressing on the shortcut (letter) T always made a cut at the location of the playback marker.

To make a cross-fade, drag the right hand object to the left over the left object. There should be a crossfade indicator and handles that you can drag to modify the length/position. The new version works very well for this and has a few possibilities like: linear fade; exponential fade; and, logarithmic fade; and no fade.

Hey where were you in May! (lol) after a lot of try and error I got the cross-fading to work. But the one thing I have not figured-out yet(if possible) how make two objects into one object so I can copy that new object and add it to the two object etc. That would save from copying one object 10 times to 3 times etc. I think I did this with an older version but I am not sure- could be wrong
