Custom processing in windows context menu for Sound Forge Pro 14

Hello,

in the actual version of soundforge (Pro 14), there is a very nice feature. On windows, with a right click we have access to some basic feature of soundforge, like "edit the file with soundforge" or "convert to"... or "normalize".

I'm applying very very very often a Normalize process + a specific wavehammer setting on my file.

Is there a way to have this in the context menu so it's applied to the file and save it immediatly ?
each time i must open soundforge, load my file, click on normalize, then wavehammer, and Save it as Mp3 320kbs.
It would be a lot of time saving ! Thanks !

I am sure there is a way to do what you want but I would not know what to enter and right-click context menus commands are written to the registry.
I create and change basic context menu items with Default Programs Editor, which allows one to easily change the common items,.. icons, descriptions, ect., ect. Highly recommended if like customizing the file extension and program parameters

Thanks for your reply, didn't know this program, seems to be interesting.

in soundforge, i did it as a batch script in it what i do, to make it available when i want to do it on several audios. unfortunatly the "save" feature is sometimes buggy. Often, it's not saving with the original bitrate etc... if i provide a 320 kbs file, sometimes it save a 256 one... so i kind of stopped to use batch and do it one file at a time.

I didn't found anything about the context menu in the manual. i don't undertand what the point to allow some stuff in it for soundforge if we can't customize it I use my own software for converting audio, generate statistic is not important to me, same with trim silence, so when i saw it "there is certainly a way to change the list of what is available", but it seems not.

Ill write a support ticket and ask because it's a nice feature but without being able to custom it, it's useless.

Yes, like the new "Instant Action" feature, it is a great idea, but customization is very limited mitigating it's usefulness.

Batch Converter encodes MP3s to whatever the preset is. Be sure to verity the parametera, Save> Add Save option> Select file type and preset and choose Custom to see and/or change the bitrate or other parameters.

Yes it's what i'm doing, it's overwriting the previous file, sometimes it's keep the right bitrate but sometimes, i found it to be converted at 256. In fact i found that when using the "Save button", and not the "Save As" in the File Tab, he's recording Mp3 as default at 256 instead of 320. I tried to find if it could be modified and put 320 as default but didn't found a solution,
that's why now i'm saving always with "Save As" and checking the right birate is selected.
It's not like Sound forge was a brand new software lol, as a mastering Professionnal audio tool, this is the kind of mistake / issue which mustn't happen.

Noticed too that my Ozone 9 elements were not working. In an other software, like Cubase, VST3 plugins have priority over Vst2, so both can be installed as there are still some software which doesn't support Vst3 DSK but Soundforge, no... i had to uninstall the Vst2 version of ozone elements 9 and keep only the Vst3 to have it appearing in Soundforge on the new "instant action" panel feature :-)
