Current Graphics Driver.

DugsBugs wrote on 6/11/2018, 6:14 PM

Does anyone know if updating the graphics driver has any affect on VPX issues.
My installed version is 22.20.16.4771
The current version is 24.20.100.6136
I assumed my version was current.
The device manager is saying the best driver is already installed.
Any thoughts please.
Doug

Hi Doug

Coincidentally I did this yesterday and Windows reported the same thing. This seems normal with Win driver "Update driver" and I always go to the Intel site which is always 1 or 2 versions newer. No problems so far with 6136.

There is a school of thought among the community that says you should not load anything newer than what is on your PC or Motherboard manufacturers site as their downloads could be customised for their builds, especially with Laptops and all in ones. I on the other hand have always gone with the graphic chip manufacturers download because my desktops are custom built PC's.

I also updated my Nvidia driver via Windows device manager but I think this may be superseded on the Nvidia site.

Thanks Peter.
When you asked me about this the other day, I assumed I was up to date.
I downloaded the current one from intel today but am not game to install it.
I had another major meltdown with the program crashing when trying to use some New Blue 2 effects.
Every time I clicked the main effects tab, the program crashed.
I used the restore point I had created before the update and re installed VPX10.
It doesn't allow for a repair. Only remove and re install.
Have everything back now but when will it all end.
