Constant Problems With Music Maker Premium and my In-app Purchases

wolby wrote on 4/20/2017, 6:02 AM

I was wondering If anyone has also had problems with the new MMM Premium and their in-app Instrument/soundpool store.

My problem is that I bought the software with a voucher for their in-app store so I purchased Concert Guitars and World Flutes the purchases were successful and I received the receipts for them however I keep ending up in a horrible cycle.

1. I open the program and the instruments I already purchased via in-app store want an activation code starting VISO however since I bought it in-app rather than on the website I received no code just a receipt for in-app-purchase.

2.The only option is to abort loading the instrument and close the software.

3. Upon re-opening the software I encounter an error code -59 "the installation folder may be damaged".

4. I Completely remove Magix and hunt around for any additional folders the Uninstaller missed and remove those as well.

5. I re-install MMM Premium and proceed to install the most recent update (slow internet connection means this takes a long time)

6. Program works well just once and my purchased instruments load correctly however, upon closing the program the next time I open it the cycle begins at point 1. again.

I know some people had problems when installing on a secondary drive so I had re-installed on my OS SSD and still the same vicious cycle awaits me. I believe the Software is having problems connecting to the Magix Store and I have seen a message saying something similar to that when the software is open. I have checked my firewall to see if its connection was being blocked and it is not.

If anyone has a solution for this problem I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise I will have to keep un/re-installing the software everytime I want to use it 😩

Hi

Did you see this topic - it could be the same problem.

Thank you but there were no options when the error reporting came up.

However I seem to have fixed the issue by repairing the program and repairing all the Vita instruments. The store doesn't show up anymore but I don't really need it anyway so I am fine as long as my instruments are working.

I'll post again if I find any more issues.

edit: I spoke to soon, again the problem has reared its ugly head.

Hi

If the store does not show up as one of the tabs then your installation is not complete.

Try re-installing using this procedure.

If you are not running Windows 7 or 8:

Ignore step 3.

Step 4 becomes :

Press and hold down the Windows key and press the R key

Step 5 becomes:

Type in cmd into the run dialog box and press the Enter key

I have the new Premium version and I'm having similar issues. When I try to make a purchase I get an error that forces me to close the program. Other than the app store issues; everything else works great. On my secondary computer, trying to purchase from the app store makes the computer freeze; forcing me to do a hard reboot. I'm downloading the free version now to see if I can finally purchase from the app store.

I followed these instructions and I removed all traces of MMM including previous iterations (like MMM 2013 and Music Studio) and even removed any relevant keys from the registry. I did the system file checker and it showed no errors.

I re-installed Magix Music Maker Premium and everything seemed fine first time running the program and I installed all my instruments including the two InAppPurchase instruments (World Flutes & Concert Guitar). I should also mention this time round I did a standard installation.

It worked and I composed something new however when I shut down the program (as I was finished with it) the next time I tried to open it again it came up with the activation dialogue for those IAP Instruments.

Not having a code for them I had to abort loading and close the window. I then received the Error -59 crash when attempting to open Music Maker.

It's looking like my only option is to either completely remove and re-install each time I want to use it or just stop using the 2 IAP Instruments I bought which would be a real shame.

I think the problem lies in Magix creating two seperate payment systems, one via in-app where you don't receive an activation code and one whereby you order on the website and you are emailed the code. The two systems seem to be conflicting and my software has been left handicapped by it.

The two instruments I bought online with an activation code (Century Keys and String Ensemble) work perfectly fine.

Thank you for your help in the mean time John.

Yeah I think they made a mistake introducing the App Store. I for one felt no burning desire to purchase extras directly in-app. Hope they fix this issue soon. I suppose there is a reason why Magix is so reasonably priced compared to other similar software and this is the downside.

Hi

Try running the program as Administrator and see if the two instruments run OK without asking for an activation.

To run as Administrator right click the program shortcut and select Run as administrator

If this works then the problem is with Windows and your account security permissions.

Failing that I would suggest you email support at magix.com or raise a ticket here.

This seems to have fixed my issue (either that or not closing the store tab). I will keep testing and if there is anything further I will email support.

In the meantime however I would like to thank you John for your swift response and help in this matter.
