Constant crashes MusicMaker

BrotherLamp wrote on 8/14/2020, 4:42 PM

Well, the program is continually crashing, I can't figure out why

Windows Version 1909 18363.1016 (Updating to 2004 right now)
Music Maker (64-Bit)
Version 29.0.1.16

PC Specs:
2070 Super
i7-9700F @4.8 gHz
Asus Z390P
1x500gb M.2 NVMe
1x1tb Sata SSD
1x2tb HDD
1x1tb HDD

When it crashes I'm usually playing around with loops, attempting to get them onto the tracks, sometimes adding effects, other times just having the program open, I also have this incredibly annoying tinnitus esque whine.

The program just seems waaay too unstable atm.

I use VST's exclusively, whenever I work on something for a few minutes it just hangs/freezes when I stop the playback.

@BrotherLamp

Hi

See this bug list - item 6.

Magix are working on the bugs and another patch is due soon.

. . . . I also have this incredibly annoying tinnitus esque whine . . . .

That is probably audio feedback - usually caused by an incorrect setting in your audio device - the most common one being 'Hear what you record' (or similarly named) setting being turned on.

I also had to change the Audio Buffer settings to get smooth preview playback -

Other users have also suggested increasing the number of buffers - I have not found this necessary.

This upgrade is NOT ready for public release. There are way too many bugs and really poor instructions on the install, etc. I guess there was a cash flow crunch. I still love the program, but someone has screwed the pooch on this release.

Hear, hear.

Glad I'm not the only one annoyed at the state of this program at the moment.

I've not long owned this program and it's not the first time things have solid locked. Funny thing is you can still hear anything you're creating, sampling or picking through the effects side bar. Nothing shows in task manager (memory leak etc) other than high power usage. Sad times....

Really agree on this, this is by far the worst release, regression wise, and the lack of official responses on social medias is a bit disappointing...and the emails promoting this version as the best ever keeps coming - this is hilarious in a sad way...

I have all the problems listed above, the thing that really, really annoys me is that there is absolutely no support, even to get this far was an adventure!

@Ken-Matthews

there is absolutely no support

That is most definitely NOT the case! I accept the route to receiving direct support from Magix may be somewhat circuitous but this forum has a number of experienced users who are willing and able to offer their suggestions. You have been previously pointed to the pinned post which lists the known, and acknowledged bugs in the latest version.

You have also given no evidence to prove that there is absolutely no support. What attempts have you made to contact Support? Have you used the Support button in the header of any forum page?

This is at least the third thread to which you have posted, despite being asked to confine your comments to the one thread which you started - by all means add additional posts there, which will bump the thread - but please be aware that "spamming" of multiple threads is against the Community rules, specifically #3, to be found in the footer of any forum page and will lead to your right of access to the forum being withdrawn.
