Hi John, yes my request was associated with the first topic that we discussed.
I searched everywhere to find a support link, but was told that the product that I wanted to get information on was no longer supported, but that I could pay £9.99 for a code to get support.
I had just renewed subscription on my Website Maker at the beginning of this month. After many hours of searching my emails and links in the product, I eventually abandoned this and went to the Magix company website found an email for a contact in Magix UK.
I have passed on my concern that they took my subscription in the knowledge that the Magix Webmaker is not encrypted and therefore insecure when using Flash. Some of the Webmaker features that I have used since I retired in 2008 no longer work and the product isn't supported and no one advised me before I paid that there were better products available.
Not being able to find a communication link to Magix really concerned me, as I couldn't find anywhere to cancel the subscription that I had just paid.
Anyway, the only person who was able to help me during this process was YOU, for which I am thankful.
Before I retired, I was a Senior Quality Manager in a Military Electronics Company (Design, Development and Manufacture) for 20 years and then the First Engineer Quality Assurance in a Major UK Nuclear Power Generation Company for a further 20 years and, in all that time, I have never witnessed customer care as poor as that currently being provided by Magix.
. . . . I had just renewed subscription on my Website Maker at the beginning of this month. . . . .
To clarify do you mean the Online Album as found here?
The contact address you need is shop@magix.net.
The issue with Flash is not caused by Magix.
Adobe are terminating support for Flash in 2020 and all the major modern web browsers have effectively blocked Flash being used by default - this started a few years ago and is a result of new technology and standards coming into force.
My personal view is that further development of a product to support an old insecure technology would not be a viable proposition.
My best advice would be to look at Xara Web Designer Premium which comes with hosting and an annual subscription fee will in the long term be a more economical proposition and you will always have the latest version so long as you maintain the subscription - see the comparison chart here.
I have a few Magix programs. I keep getting popups advertising products that I have and even upgrades to some that I do not have. How can I stop these annoying popups???
You are wrong - my original post to the Help Forum was an operational issue. The Forum was unable to resolve it, so I tried to get help from Magix, which the would only provide if I was willing to pay them. I intend to change to a different Website Maker when my contract expires due to this lack of customer support. Like you, I have used Magix for approximately 12 years, but I'm now totally dissatisfied with it. The issue I wanted resolved was that I could not review my changes before posting, a service that had worked over the previous 12 years.
The user is asking for help stopping the pop-ups that appear as a result of Magix Connect (formerly Network Sync), which is installed with Magix products, and has nothing to do with your posts you have made ie: Services, Flash in Edge or Keywords.
John, I have no idea what you are talking about. I do not know which comments you are referring to. I received a notification from you this morning about a complaint that I made to Magix earlier this year about product failures. I am leaving Magix Webmaker when my contract expires, because of lack of support for a product that has failed. Magix customer support is rubbish, which is the reason why I am leaving and wish for no more correspondence from either them or you. Please stop !
. . . . I received a notification from you this morning about a complaint that I made to Magix earlier this year . . . .
Incorrect - the notification was not from me, you received an automated response, that a comment has been made in a topic you raised, because those are the settings that are set in your profile.
. . . . wish for no more correspondence from either them or you. Please stop ! . . . .
Receiving email notification regarding comments in posts that you have created or commented in, are in your control, it is out of my, and any other user who posts in a topic you are following, control, if you do not want them turn them off in your Profile settings shown below.
