How do you add 3rd party Luts, Transitions and Effects to Movie Studio?
Yes to cube files. Just place them in the appropriate folder.
3rd party transitions and effects from the Magix shop should place themselves in the program when downloaded.
LUTs may need to be placed into the appropriate folder.

As I'm quite new to this, could someone share what the appropriate folder is for Windows Users?

The .cube files should be in the folder:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Videocontent\Program name\VideoEffects\LUTPresets.
In the above folder you should have 2 sub folders - LUTCamera and LUTEffect put the cube files in the appropriate folder, you can create sub folders if you wish as shown in the example below
Once installed they should appear in Templates tab, Movie Looks as shown below
NOTE: you require 3D Cubes, not 1D, to be able to use them in Movie Studio/Movie Edit Pro.
