The idea of buying samples for commercial reasons is illogical. I really don't understand it. I really can't comprehend it, although I tried really hard to.
Some people use soundpools and want to commercialise their music. Can't really afford to buy commercial samples, and can't really sell their music.
It's a bad idea.
What would work is *if* you used soundpools to commercialize your music, and you make money on that music. So, you get a notification or request to pay say, $40 AUD or equivalent to that in USD per song. That would not be a problem if the Artist was making money with the song. Magix Music Maker can also strike a deal with Music Selling Platforms to get statistics on song sales, if they wanted to.
If I make $1,000 from a song, and Magix says "OK our system has detected that you used soundpools, we request a payment of $40" It wouldn't bother me at all. As long as I made at least $100 from it.
But how the hell can you possibly know whether or not you will use the sound pools for commercial reasons? Not all Artists sell all their music, nor hold the intention that they are planning to sell all their music.
And of course you know, if it feels intense for people, they just flock to places like composerloops so that they don't have to worry about commercial licensing.
Because of the issue of commercial licensing with Magix, I tend to avoid using Magix samples in my productions. If Magix wants to get commercial money, then they should help Artists actually gain exposure for and therefore accrue sales from their music, so that Artists can generate sales, and they should make it Logical. They shouldn't just make up some airy fairy design such as "You intend to use this for commercialisation purposes therefore you must pay!".
Not all of us intend to commercialise on our Existence.
Some of us just do like to play and have fun, and it would be nice to bump into some money every now and then as a result of that.
