Clips won't automatically connect to each other/marker

I use Movie Edit Pro 2016, and if you split a clip into two, add a clip in between them that clip will automatically connect to the edge of the first clip. Now I don't know if anybody else has or had this problem cause I couldn't find it, but the clips won't connect to each other or to the marker anymore for some reason. If someone knows how to fix this problem it would be of great help to me. Thank you.

Hi

There are 2 ways to get round this:

  1. Change your mouse mode to Mouse mode for single track - keyboard shortcut 8 - then when you delete the beginning or end of a clip they will automatically join together if possible.

  2. Instead of using the Cut start, Z key, or Cut end, U key, with the timeline cursor at the position where you want to cut and the object selected use the Cut - T key and then select the portion you wish delete and then press Ctrl + Del

Note if you do not select the required object and there are others below the one you want to cut, they will also be cut.

There is another mouse mode that will work Mouse mode for all tracks - shortcut 7 however do be aware that this can affect objects on lower tracks ie if you make a cut objects on lower tracks will move and may overlap.
