Clip blacks out!

A friend of mine bought Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 Premium a while ago, and he's letting me try it to see if I want to buy it (buy my own copy of course). I've noticed two problems. If I import some of my own greenscreen clips (using the time line setting) they import fine, but some of the thumbnails are blank along the clip timeline. It will play fine by itself, but if I try to actually do a greenscreen, the preview screen goes black when it hits the areas where the thumbnails are missing. Exports this way too. I personally have used Videopad, which loads these clips just fine and plays them without problems.

Any ideas?   Thanks!

Hi

What is the source, resolution and framerate of the greenscreen clips?

What are the project settings you are using?

Also check, at the places where the preview screen goes black, that the whole frame is not green - to do this step along the timeline to a point where the black appears then turn off the Chroma green effect.

If nothng obvious shows up can you upload a short clip (if it is nothing private or confidential) to somewehere like Dropbox,  that shows this problem for us to have a look at?

John
