@CubeAce @johnebaker @browj2 Thanks, I've been playing with the Vegas Pro 18 trial, it has a bit more 'stuff' than MEP but it's also a bit of a learning pain at the mo, went to bed about 4am last night 🤦‍♂️🤣 but i sort of like that challenge & a lot of the basics are very similar, As you say John 'programs like Boris, Bluff Titler etc. they do not fit my style of video', i agree, if you watch any of my vids they are really simple, no fancy intro, just a 7fr crossfade between clips, that's one thing that i haven't found yet or is missing in Vegas,? In MEP i can load a dozen clips & give them all a crossfade with a couple of clicks, Vegas there's no setting of the transition time, or allowance to do all clips in one track, just dragging each clip over the other, i did find that if you select all clips you can drag n drop a transition onto a join which is supposed to put it between all but whether it's because i've got the trial version or my clips need a little trim i don't seem to get it to do all correctly, & i have to go to each transition anyway & set the time. Living n learning 😣

I use GIMP for photo stuff, i like that but there's also loads of fancy stuff on there i don't use, so I think it will come down to money, I'll stick with MEP for practical use & if i can afford it i'll buy Vegas as a toy, No kids, no wife, no pets, just work n bills, I don't spend my money on games etc. Just a PC so ......🤷‍♂️😎😂

@CubeAce @Karkes @johnebaker

🤣😁👍 Went for it & bought Vegas Pro 18, & over the last few days i looked into Boris Continuum, bit pricey but seemed interesting, the licencing confused me a bit, everywhere n everyone kept mentioning Perpetual licence ??🤷‍♂️ even when i read the Boris description of licences, monthly, yearly etc i still was unsure, so i sent a msg in the little popup chat window o Boris's site this morning asking about it, he answered within ½hr & i got a clearer understanding after a few back n forth msgs, he asked was i interesting in buying Continuum n could he help, i told him i need t buy Vegas first which i'll prob get this wk'end, he said he could get me Continuum with the permeant (perpetual 😉) licence for $295, a big drop from the on screen price of $695,

hmmm i thought, I was at work just then but within an hr of getting home a couple of hrs later i had Vegas Pro 18 & Boris Continuum bought & installed 😂😂🤣🤣🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

@Former user

That will be interesting to see what you think of it Gid but perhaps as private messages for this site due to its off topic nature.

The last point I would like to make is the green screen effects offered within most video editors are quite basic compared to a dedicated green screen plugin that a TV or film company would have at their disposal such as the one offered by Boris Effects shown below which offers many more tools for refinement of the green screen images produced, so maybe expecting similar results from the in house effects offered within most video editors may be difficult to achieve for more complex or demanding shoots.

I believe this is an OFX plugin so should work within MEP of VPX but not cheap.
