Chroma Key turns green screen gray and cannot be removed. When using the color function, the background color is only partially removed. The range function does not help to remove any color in the background. What to do?

The Green screen requires specific colours of green to work properly, when using the Color option you need to drag the marquee out as large as possible as shown below
Note: the colour variation must not be too great otherwise strange effects can occur

That would not work as the order of the effects means that what was a grey background now has a strong green cast, as does the subject.
