Changing of Page Width in Design Layout Page

Doreen-Wade wrote on 4/21/2020, 3:46 AM

I am using Xara web design premium already made design template. I opened the template. I went to cut and paste text in the text box. All of a sudden I look over at the Page layout and the width has changed. Does this mean anything. Am I doing something wrong. I have looked at 40 plus tutorials and nothing says anything. Does Anyone know what I am doing wrong. is there a tutorial to help me.

Doreen, the page gallery display is a bit misleading. The apparent width of each page changes with it's length. A long page looks skinny, but it is actually the correct width. The effect looks worse on the mobile pages, as they tend to be longer than a PC=size page. I got a shock when I saw it the first time but it's nothing to worry about (I hope!).

To check your page width, in the main window, right-click > page options to set the page width.

All my forum comments are based on or refer to my System 1.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

I was working on the web design program the newest version and all of a sudden the design gallery will not open. It will not do anything. It has an X next to it so it is open but it tells me I must open it before I can use it. I am not sure of the problem. Can anyone help me.
