I need help in how to isolate a track and change the key because everytime I try and change the key the entire project key changes and I only desire for one track to change. Can anyone give pointers and or tips?
If it's a mix of tracks or instruments, it's usually not possible to isolate it, especially enough to change the pitch (key). You could try iZotope's RX or SF pro's sister program SpectraLayers, but I doubt the result would be acceptable. ... OTOH, if it's a separate track from a multi-track recording (a single instrument or vocal for instance), that may be possible.. sometimes.
Yes it is multi-tracks unmixed. So What I am thinking is, is that the only way to get around this is to simply use midi and play the melody in the desires key from the outset because when you attempt to play a chord such as the scale of doe re me for example, it may do the doe and completely skip the re and me and may hit the fa but never in a logical sequence run of scale. Plus it is so hard to find good loops. I use to have acid pro back in 2000 and it came with some awesome loops to work with, but now, nothing really meshes. You may find a beat but no good bassline, or a good bass line and no good beat.
Sound Forge is a multi-channel editing app, NOT a multi-track recorder/mixing device (DAW). I normally use Vegas for audio post (no MIDI), and master the audio in SF. Acid or Sonar would be better if you need MIDI.
