Sound Forge 15 stops recording after a couple of minutes, says I don’t have enough disk space. How do I get it to look at my open RAM for its temporary files? Using Windows PC
Do you have adequate HD disk space? How much RAM memory does your PC have? I think the minimum for SF is 8GB. The record options settings could be stopping record, check those parameters in the 'View> Record options' Otherwise, try resetting or experimenting with the 'record buffer' settings in "Options> Preferences> Audio"... I think the default is 1.00 sec. Confirm your 'Record and temporary files' location in "Options> Preferences> General" I do not recall a SF RAM for temporary files setting, aside from the record and playback buffers.
btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @IndySkies.
1) 695 GB free HD space 2) RAM? Version 14 worked 3) Record options not helpful 3) Knowing how to change where the temp files are stored helped. Thank you very much.
If your not sure the amount of RAM your system has, the free Speccy will state about everything you need to know of yo' PC's attributes. Recommended. (Speccy is from CCleaner products.. also recommended)
btw, did changing the record & temp file folder resolve the record issue?
Hey, thanks to everybody, once I figured out how to make Soundforge place and look for files temp, or otherwise, in my HD that has 700 GB free storage I’ve had no problems. I’m an old 65 old Luddite that likes computers, but has a hard time figuring out what to do if I haven’t done it before
