Cannot open MP3 files

When I try to open an MP3 File format Audio Studio 15 says Format Not Supported - What's up with that?

Unfortunately this is a rather common complaint.
Look in "C:\Program Files\SOUND FORGE\SOUND FORGE\Audio Studio 15.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\mp3plug2" and see if there is a <mp3plug2.dll> file. If not, and you have another version of Sound Forge or Vegas, copy/paste the 'mp3plug2' folder, or.. the file if the folder already exists. Note: The MP3 mp3plug2.dll file is not inter-compatible in all versions of SF and my cause SF to crash when the MP3 encoder is launched.
Reinstalling Sound Forge will usually 'fix' this issue. Search this and the Vegas Pro Audio (sister) forum for more info.
