You didn't specify which Magix program you are using, but I guess it doesn't matter much if it won't start.  I had periodic problems back in the Magix Movie Edit Pro version 12 and earlier days.  Fortunately, version 14 has proven to be very stable on my Vista PC.

I also had some problems with Music Maker version 12.  In these cases, I found uninstalling, rebooting and doing a fresh install to be the solution.  It appears some files would get corrupted.

Since your program won't even start correctly, I'm guessing your install didn't get everything right.

Try the unistall/reinstall routine and if you get the same problem, you should contact Magix support at support.magix.net - click Contact and send them an email.  I've gotten responces from them usually within a few days a few times in this last year and most of the time they actually helped me.

Good luck,

Tim

If I understand your last edit, you are having the same problem on three different laptops?  You need to contact Magix support and run this buy them.  It sounds like your install source has something gone bad.  Perhaps something has changed on the Magix web site side?

Good luck,

Tim

Hi,

Update your graphics driver. Ideally you should have a dedicated graphics card to work with Video Deluxe. If not, you might want to have one fitted. Also, run a search for the program's configuration file "Videodeluxe.ini" and delete in order to reset the program completely. Restart and see whether you can get it to work. Next step: Complete programm reinstallation.

Other than that, I second the suggestion of contacting Magix support for their input.

Hope this helps!
