cannot import (expensive..) soundpool

almm wrote on 9/21/2015, 8:25 AM

so, ive never really had any problems importing soundpools in the past, with the exception of the free country vol1 , and drum and bass.wave (or something) but that was cheap so i was fine using it from the 'import database' . to cut to the chase i bought 3 sample packs today; the expensive 'no fear-score' and 2 cheaper ones, i downloaded and unzipped the files as per usual and then 'added to database' as per usual, however the 2 cheap packs appeared in my database but the 'no fear-score' didnt, ive tried adding the files into the default folder, but that didnt work either. anyone else had this problem, or has any ideas to solve it, ive tried reseting the database but the problem isnt solved. for reference [ http://www.catooh.com/uk/sys/id/Katalog/area/mediaDetails/item_id/423359/ ]

I have had this even to this day sound pool 14 has issues

mine are you inport it and it shows up, but after leaving it vanishes it seems to be how the program remembers were the file is

I also have had on inporting a soundpool two styles dont show, i have found tho that the files have hiddern info this is what Music maker reads so it can put the files in order

Now there is a File that has BPM info and scale info see

[Tempo]
BPM=80

[HarmonyTable]
Scale=C

Sample1=C
Sample2=d
Sample3=e
Sample4=F
Sample5=G
Sample6=a
Sample7=B

if this is removed then the inport fails but there are still tag info that we still can not see

these are Tag info that is writtern into the file see

http://www.hydrogenaud.io/forums/index.php?showtopic=84775

I can change my own recordings adding tag info but Soundpool files are locked, i think it would be handy if the info could be read or we coould make our own soundpools

Hi

. . . . tried swapping the file with another soundpools file... but still no luck . . . .

This should work however because you have already intalled the soundpool I suspect MMM recognises it is already there and does not updated the database. Try this:

  1. Move the sounpool to another location, then select File, Program settings.

  2. On the General options tab select the Cleanup soundpool option and read the message - if you are sure you want to do this click Yes

    This will remove all references to soundpools which are not on the hard drive.

  3. Put the Soundpool you moved back into the correct folder location make sure you have the BPM.inf file there.

    Note I have a soundpool installed which has no information in the BPM.inf file - so it appears that the beat and scale information is not required, just the inf needs to be present for installation to work.

  4. Click the Soundpool Add button and import / add to the soundpools again.

Hi,

Take a look at this thread which may help or confuse. Some soundpool don't work like standard ones.
