Cannot burn BD from just part of project

clement5 wrote on 8/2/2023, 1:49 PM

It is possible to export just part of a project to a number of formats by selecting the range, and then clicking on the box in the export dialog to only export the selected range. I can find no method for burning just part the project. Is it hidden somewhere, or is there an extra setting somewhere else????? If there is a setting somewhere else it is just another example of the random way options appear. They need to be ABSOLUTELY UNIFORM. I have looked all over the burning options and didn't see one for only burning the selected range.

@clement5

Hi

There is no option to use a range when burning a disc.

However there is a workaround to achieve the same thing:

  1. On the timeline set the range you want to burn

  2. Select Edit, Edit range, Copy or press Alt + C

  3. Add a new timeline to the project and paste the copied content, add chapter markers if needed.

  4. Save the project

  5. Switch to the Burn mode

  6. Select the Edit button top left of the Menu editor - see image below

  7. Uncheck the first timeline - see image below, also make any other changes to the menu you require.

  8. Switch back to Preview mode and burn disc as before.

Thank You. That is another example of poor design. Your suggestion is not always the best because it doesn't also transfer the chapter markers which can a big bother. I came up with another workaround.

1. Save the original project under a new name.

2. Put a cut at the beginning and end of the range.

3.Select the stuff at the beginning and delete.

4. Then do the same for the end.

5. Delete the orphaned chapter markers.

6. Use the Mouse move mode for all tracks to bring the project to the left.

The markers will move with the videos.
