Can't get MPEG-4 codec to activate on Movie Edit Pro 2014 version 13.0.2.8.

Can't get MPEG-4 codec to activate on Movie Edit Pro 2014 version 13.0.2.8. When I try to activate online I get a "you are a guest and must have admin priveleges" which I do.

What's weird is that I HAD the codec purchased and activated and it appears to have disappeared. I've been successfully exprting mpeg-4's for the last year.  Trying to use the activation code from the product I ordered previously does not work and I can not find a standalone codec to purchase from the Magix store.  I will not purchase a new video editing suite from a company that has deliberately made their old software useless in order to get more sales of new products so if that is the case let me know and I can go purchase another company's product.

Hi

Without knowing which version of Windows you are using it is difficult to give precise instructions, however, try right clicking the shortcut / menu item / icon  and select 'Run as administrator' then try the activation again.

. . . . What's weird is that I HAD the codec purchased and activated and it appears to have disappeared. . . . .

Is this the Main Concept codec?

I am on Windows 10 and a recent update appears to have knocked out the registration / activation of the codec in all my older versions of MEP - I fixed this by running the program installer again and selecting Repair.

Hi

. . . . this is Windows 10 . . . .

If Windows 10 was an upgrade from 7 or 8 and MEP was installed before the upgrade then

Try re-installing using this procedure - then install the free downoads and your codec and it should activate properly.
