The answer to your question is, strictly, no. It is a program designed to allow users to create digital copies of their analogue video tapes. The level of editing capability it has is very limited.

If you are looking to edit video footage which you have recorded and compile it into a finished product you would be better advised to have a look at Magix Movie Studio (MMS).

One other thought; your mention of homemade movies leads me to wonder if you are referring to cine films. If you are there are no Magix products that are suitable for this unless you first digitise the film. Once this has been done you can then use software like MMS to compile your finished video.
