I just bought Movie Studio Platinum because I'd like to get back into video making. I downloaded the exe that was in my email and it says the file is corrupted and unreadable. I downloaded a second time and it still happens.
If you go to the Magix website and download the trial version from there you can then apply your email provided activation code to fully unlock the trial.
This is most likely your Antivirus/Firewall program blocking the Download Manager which actually downloads and runs the main program installer.
Try disabling the Protected folder/Real time protection feature of the AV/Firewall.
If that does not work try right clicking the Download Manager executable, it should be in your Downloads folder, and select Run as Administrator.
If that does not work then we need more information :
The specification of your computer system including Windows version and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full.
I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.
Are you getting any error messages, if so then please quote them in full or provide screen shots.
I downloaded the trial and that worked. The exe I was emailed was smaller in size compared to the trial exe, so that was the problem there I think. I registered the program with no problems. Unfortunately I am now stuck at the splash screen and the program does not open fully. I am using Windows 10.
Check in the Windows bottom tray/task bar that there is not a hidden window that needs to be answered before continuing. Some users have had this problem.
No, I don't have that. It says "Searching for Directsound deices, Initializing Media Pool, Loading program layout, and Loading Main Window, and it stays there.

Try pressing the Esc key,or right arrow key then the Enter key. As has been previously commented the dialog that may be there is not visible as it is hidden behind the dialog pane, depending on the version of Movie Studio you have does not show up in the Taskbar, nor are the edges visible behind the loading dialog you have quoted above.
The program may be searching and hanging due to a hardware issue, what is the specification of your computer system including Windows version and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full, and also what monitor/screen resolution(s) you are working with if this is a laptop.

Okay, hitting the Esc key did work. I get a message that there's a display issue or I need to adjust the zoom. Maybe that's why it was hanging. I can figure that out later. Thank you so much, I appreciate the help.
