Can I use an external soundcard with Magix

Hey guys!

I recently started using Magix, to record some bass lines, but since I always used real instruments I have never used any software to create music. Well my question is, can I use an external soundcard to improve my audio processing?

It may be a silly question, but it is really bugging me!

Thanks.

Definitely not a silly question, however you have not given enough detail on how you are connecting / recording the bass guitar (?).

From what you have said it sounds like you are connecting the bass, possibly through a pre-amp directly to the mic or line input of the sound card and recording from this.

Based on this, yes you can use an external audio device which does the audio conversion and then outputs it over USB.

There are many audio preamp / mixers, both mini and large that will do this for example see the M-Audio range.
