Can I custom shape instruments in your INDEPENDENCE PRO PLUS SUITE?

DELGADILLO-JAVIER wrote on 10/25/2021, 12:35 PM

I want to purchase your INDEPENDENCE PRO PLUS SUITE, before I do, need to know if I will be able to shape each instrument of the instruments listed in this package individually at my own will. I need instruments to create my own customized music. Please respond ASAP so I can go ahead with the purchase. Thanks

You've only been waiting 15 minutes. However Magix are not here only users. You can edit the sounds in Independance but I haven't tested how much. I find the interface rather tricky and certainly old fashioned.

@DELGADILLO-JAVIER

Hi

This is a user to user forum, not Magix Support, any response you get depends on a user being online and has experience of Independence Pro.

As I do not use Independence I cannot answer your question about 'shaping' each instrument, however you can download the free version and some instruments here and test it before purchasing the full version.

@DELGADILLO-JAVIER

Can you explain rather more precisely what you mean by shaping an instrument? I do have Independence Pro and might be able to answer your question if I can be sure of what you are asking.

Hello Emmrecs, what I mean by shaping is, Can I use the instruments that are content in Independence Pro individually and in a cutomized way. See, I record songs with guitar and my voice, then I bring my recorded song to Magix music maker and incorporate different instruments to my song

DELGADILLO-JAVIER wrote on 10/25/2021, 3:14 PM

In other words, I design music around my recorded songs

SP. wrote on 10/25/2021, 3:27 PM

@DELGADILLO-JAVIER Yes, you can customize the instruments. What do you want to do? You can even load VST effects inside Independence to change the sound of the instrument in a way that isn't even offered by the included effects. Of course, the samples are prerecorded and you cannot play something that wasn't recorded.

For example you can play string instruments in very different ways (articulations like Sustain, Legato, Portamento, Marcato, Staccato, Staccatissimo, Spiccato, Trills etc.). Independence comes with the standard articulations that cover most of the things you will need but not with special articulations that aren't used very often. You cannot change this without recording your own samples which of course is possible.

I would recommend you to wait until Black Friday or December to buy Independence. Usually there is a huge discount that will get you the Premium version for about $75.

Thank you very much SP for your information, and of course I will wait for a special to get the premium. Good day.

@DELGADILLO-JAVIER

You can download the free version of Independence here https://www.magix.com/gb/free-download/independence-free-sampler-software/ It comes with 2 GB of sounds, mostly drum samples.

Best Service also offers libraries for Independence (or their own, limited but free version of Independence called "Engine"). You can download Engine and the Engine artist library (a limited selection of their offerings but very nice sounding) here for free: https://www.bestservice.com/engine_artists_library.html

You need to install and register it before you can use it. But it is very nice way to test if you would like Independence and the libraries that are available. Be aware that the Best Service Libraries are NOT part of the Magix Plus or Premium Suite but separate products.

You can also test Best Service libraries for free with Try Sound https://www.bestservice.com/try-sound.html which requires you to download DAWconnect to test them over the internet. Here you can also test Independence libraries like the ERA series.

DELGADILLO-JAVIER wrote on 10/26/2021, 3:16 PM

SP I did downloaded the independence sample , however, don’t know how to register it in order to use it with my Alesis keyboard

SP. wrote on 10/26/2021, 3:36 PM

@DELGADILLO-JAVIER Are you talking about Independence Free? If I remember correctly you just close the window when it asks for a serial number. It then disables some features of the paid version and you can use it for free.

DELGADILLO-JAVIER wrote on 10/26/2021, 6:16 PM

Of course

so, I must write the serial number if my Magix program snd the free independence will be incorporated in the program

I will try it tomorrow , Thanks again and pardon me for bugging you

Hello, some body, who knows the steps to plug in the free independence sampler into my Magix music maker program ?

I will appreciate any help I can get

thanks

SP. wrote on 10/28/2021, 11:01 AM

@DELGADILLO-JAVIER You need the VST feature in Music Maker to load Independence. Have you already installed it from the shop? If yes, then continue.

Open the program settings of Music Maker and go to the "Folders" tab. Click on the button "Add VST plug-in path...". Next click on "Add scan path..." and navigate to the folder where your Magix Independence DLL is installed. Usually it is located under C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins\MAGIX\Independence\. After you selected the folder click on "Scan now" and "OK". The Independence VST should now be listed under the VST instruments tab.

You can then load and play Independence like every other VST instrument.

If you need help with loading the free Independence library inside the plugin just ask.

Thank you so much , I will try and hope it goes right

question : do I have tu purchase the VST feature ?

SP. wrote on 10/28/2021, 3:40 PM

@DELGADILLO-JAVIER If you don't own the plus or premium edition of Music Maker you need to buy the feature separately.

But of course you can use every other audio program that supports VST instruments. There are some free out there. For example you can use the free version of Magix Samplitude called Samplitude Pro X4 Silver. http://dl04.magix.net/2019/SamplitudeProX4Silver/Program/SamProX4_Silver_INT_200121_07-59.exe

@DELGADILLO-JAVIER

Hi

. . . . do I have tu purchase the VST feature  . . . .

I would recommend you purchase the Premium edition and get all the features, functions including the VST bridge for 32 bit instruments/VST's, additional SoundPools and Instruments rather than buying components piecemeal.

@DELGADILLO-JAVIER Before you buy Music Maker I would rather suggest to use Samplitude Pro X4 Silver or get Samplitude Music Studio because they have MUCH better MIDI and audio features which are very important for complex VSTs like Independence. The learning curve is steeper but it isn't pleasant to edit complex MIDI projects in Music Maker.

DELGADILLO-JAVIER wrote on 10/28/2021, 7:20 PM

Hello SP

I already have Magix Music Maker just updated 2022

I follow your instructions and I succeeded

mi midi keyboard works fine but, I couldn’t access to the different instruments only have the piano tone

how do I go by loading the instruments in order to be able to use them with my midi keyboard

Now, this Magix samplitude free program , can it work as a plug in with my Magix program tu use its instruments ?

@DELGADILLO-JAVIER

First you need to install the free library with the independence_freelibrary_dlm.exe installer. If you use the standard path C:\Program Files (x86)\MAGIX\Independence Libraries\Independence Free then Independence should find the libraries automatically after a restart.

Then open Independence and click on "click here to load instrument" to load an instrument of your choice. Enter your E-Mail address to activate the free library.

You should then be able to play the instrument. If you add multiple layers with different instruments you need to check the MIDI channel of the instrument. As you can see in the picture adding multiple layers will give them different MIDI channels. If you keyboard just sends on channel 1 you cannot hear the different layers and you need to change the channel number.

If the library isn't visible then go to "Preferences > Libraries > Add Library" to add the path where you installed the free library. Then make a click on the layer and select "rebuild menu". The library should appear in the menu after doing this.

You can find a very long PDF manual in the Help menu that explains you everything in detail.

If you have another question or it doesn't work for you just ask us for help.

I will surely try this, thank you very much. I will comment to you on this

Hello SP, how do I get to download the free instruments library? Where do I find this file independence_freelibrary_dlm.exe installer ? Thanks

DELGADILLO-JAVIER wrote on 10/30/2021, 10:39 AM

Another question, If I buy any of the Independence Pro kit, which was my idea from the beginning, do I have to go through all this same hassle to install it in my Magix music maker ?

SP. wrote on 10/30/2021, 12:39 PM

@DELGADILLO-JAVIER You can download the installer here https://www.magix.com/gb/free-download/independence-free-sampler-software/

If you want to install the Pro library you'll download a different installer. You can add the Pro library just as I showed in the screenshots but I think it will be added automatically if you just select the standard paths.

You can upgrade the Independence sampler to the Pro version if you open the preferences menu. There is a button labelled "Activate Independence Pro". You don't need to reinstall it.
