Burnt DVD - Unreliable Chapter Repeat Funcion

Whalebat wrote on 7/22/2012, 2:57 PM

I am using MXProPlus.

Assuming I've created a project with several chapters.

Burnt the project to disc.

If I want to playback a chapter in "repeat" Mode when the laser returns to the beginning

of the chapter playback starts but chops off about 10 seconds of audio.

I have tried several projects in several DVD players (some new) and all reflect the same problem.

Is there something I can do when creating the project to ensure reliable repeat function from start to end of a small chapter 2 to 3 mins long?

Note:

I assume it's not the DVD Players because old and new players reflect the issue.

So assume it's either to do with.

Project Creation or Project Burning to disc.

I am not sure myself, I personally have never used the repeat portion of the burning, I just knew it was there. To help me recreate the disc authoring you have made, can you go into a little more detail of your project...

How many chapters does your project have?

What are the elements (type of video, photos, audio) of your project?

There might be some more need to know questions. Burning is different from system to system and regardless of the resources you have on your system, 100% of that which is available will be used from time to time... I would just like to try and reproduce the project and burn to see if I can get similar results.

Hello john-auvil

Thanks for the reply and interest.

My question refers to the repeat function on a domestic DVD Player when playing a burnt disc created on MEP MX Plus

1. Create any project, video and audio.

2. Divide it into chapters, some small (2 to 3mins), some larger.

3. Burn the disc to DVD.

4. Put the burnt DVD in a domestic DVD player.

5. Press play and use the repeat function (normally found on the remote control) for

any of the smaller chapters.

6. The problem will show at the beginning of the repeat.... it's more noticeable on the smaller chapters..... where the video plays but with no audio.

Thanks Again

Edit

You could play and record some guitar and divide it up into repeatable chapters

(  X Number of measures per chapter).

Then try and use the domestic DVD Player  repeat mode on the remote to continously repeat a chapter with say 8 measures.
