Bluray Menu Design

Darynn-Ho wrote on 6/24/2023, 7:18 PM

Well - since this community seems to be a very well engaged and supportive group, I thought I'd continue the newly formed tradition of asking for help.

In my last posting (https://www.magix.info/us/forum/rendered-video-is-flickering-pulsing--1326189/) I asked for feedback on what software would be good to do menu creation in for a bluray disc.

@johnebaker - you shared that Movie Studio has it's own menu creation tool, which I have begun looking into. However, I would like to add a button or customize some buttons and don't see that option in my software.

For instance, the manual states that I should be able to "add a new menu entry"

However, I don't see that option in my navigation pane:

What am I doing wrong?

Appreciate your help yet again.

@Darynn-Ho

Hi

Apologies for the delay in responding, to add a button see the short video below.

Note:

If using an image it is best to create a resized version of the image you intend to use with the same Aspect Ratio, eg 16:9 if widescreen, about 200px high.

If you want an image only button do not enter any text in the Menu text box.

@johnebaker - I don't have the option to add a button, as shown in your video. Is that restricted in some way by version?

I'm using the following Movie Studio version:

Or is it that I'm somehow not in the right place to do it?

Here's a larger screenshot:

@Darynn-Ho

I think you are running the Basic version of Movie Studio, rather than the Premium or Suite versions. Is that correct?

If so, it is quite possible that your version does not offer the option to create a new button.

However, on your second image, towards the right hand side, you do have the option to Design Button. Have you tried to use this? If so, with what results?

@Darynn-Ho, @emmrecs

Hi

I suspect the issue is similar to a recent issue another user has had.

  1. Try resetting the program back to it's default settings - File, Settings, Reset program settings to default, and then try the project again.

  2. If that does not work try a new project to see if the Add button icon appears.

If 2 works then the project with the issue may have a corrupt data entry in it. - to fix this load the project and select File, Manage project, Export movie file, Magix movie file (*.mvd) for each timeline in the project.

Start a new project and the import the saved MVD file(s) -File, Manage project, Import movie file, Magix movie file (*.MVD) then save the project as normal with a new filename.
