Blueray buring menu problem 50i to 60i Movie Edit Pro 18

NeilH wrote on 4/16/2012, 9:01 AM

I am using MEP 18 with a quad core i7 PC, 8GB RAM, ATi Video

I record in 1080i 50i to blueray disks

I needed to save as a 1080i 60i disk for a collegue in the USA as most of the Bluray players in the USA dont support 50i

The conversion works perfectly EXCEPT the menu is still only in 50i

I had sound with the static menu and when I removed the sound, the menu then recorded in 24p (but the rest of the video content was correctly converted to 60i)

this looks like a bug to me

anyone with some thoughts ?

Good point, I have yet to try that. Thanks for the heads up.

This static menu you have was all designed within the Burn Mode with Movie Edit Pro MX (18)?

I would like to try to mimic the project you have so I can test it to make sure it is repeatable, then perhaps we can see if there is anything to report to the Magix Developers.

Yes it was all very standard stuff - all their default menus from MEP 18

I have tested and retested and it is VERY duplicatable. Im using a standard HD Sony AVCHA camera 50i

My best work around is to disable the sound on the menu - this way the menu is recorded in 24p which a LOT more blueray players in the USA support in comparison with 50i support.

It really is wierd as I have both Slideshows AND 50i Video and both are converted on the new disks in the corrrect 60i - its just the static menus (havent tried the animated ones) that are stuck at 50i or 24p (without menu music)

Looks like im not the only one who has found a similar issue

and this guy has gone in to some depth

Looks like Magix have some work to do - and QUICKLY !

Interesting, I hadn't noticed that before.

I have communicated with Magix and they know about the problem and are working on a fix.

Apparenty it is a high priority issue. Here's hoping for a quick fix as this is a major problem for people who trusted the software converted from 50i to 60i as the specifications state it does.

Yes it was all done in MEP 18 standard no external anything.

I also found that if you change fonts within in the menu creation part and then save the project, the fonts revert back to the original ones - another bug :(
