If I create an automation for the FX Track it sounds fine in preview, but when rendered to publish the file the automation simply fails to work correctly.
Watch and listen - much easier than explaining it!
. . . . In the preview the delay and reverb fade out gradually. . . . In the published Flac the effects drop out as soon as the note on the other track plays. . . .
That is not what I hear, the delay and reverb continue to fade out however there is a tonal change, which I believe could a separate issue, which is distracting from the fade outs, I have heard this before though it is somewhat rare.
When raising a support ticket you do get the option to add files, if the file is not accepted, Zip it up and then attach.
@johnebaker I have remade the video showing the issue, I think, more clearly.
Please tell me you can hear the strong reverb on FX track 2 that gradually fades on the preview track but the reverb drops out suddenly and completely after around 4 seconds of playback on the published FLAC file - I'm not talking about a subtle difference between the preview and the published file, the difference is like night and day.
Anyway, I notice when I open the FX Rack for the Track effects channels, they are showing as Track 3 and Track 4. That's weird!?!
Thanks for the better example and as you have commented -there is something definitely 'weird' going not only with the export.
The 'wrong track' indication on the effect control panel, I believe is MMM using those tracks as 'placeholders' for the two FX channels, as you have only 2 tracks in the project they are using tracks 3 and 4, on my PC and with 32 tracks they appear on track 33 for FX1 and 34 for FX2 and using the Dry/Wet controls mixes the original track and the 'placeholder'
There would appear to be another issue - track 1 automation curve is magenta indicating that this is FX1 level yet you have this muted in the mixer, similarly track 2 automation curve is orange which is FX2 level the efX_Reverb.
I would suggest you raise a Support ticket - see this Support article on how to navigate the Support system if you are not familiar with it.
