Automate Music Enhancements

JoaoBC wrote on 11/24/2019, 5:47 PM

Guys, good night.
I created a sequence of commands, (keystrokes) to do enhacement any music.
Causing Sound Forge to turn a mono song into a stereo song.
This sequence is a bit laborious if you are going to do it with multiple songs.
My question:
Is there a way to automate this?
I load a song, call the batch operation, save the already transformed song, call the next song, and repeat the process?
Thank you.

I'm not sure I understand.. but multiple files can be loaded in the Batch Converter and the plug-ins and process parameters can be saved as well to repeat the operation at another time. Multiple plug-ins and parameters can be saved as well with the individual user plug-in presets and/or with FX chains. A 'series' of keyboard shortcut commands cannot be saved directly AFAIK.

Hello, RRaud, good morning !

I want to work with only one song at a time.
Open only one file at a time.
But repeat the entire process in each file one at a time.
My wish is to click on the "do it" (macro menu) and all the steps are done alone. Automatically.
How do you do this ?

Thanks

PS: Forgive me.
I did not learn the English language.
I'm using google translator.
So I can't express myself properly.

Effects Plug-in Chainer.
Allows you to apply multiple effects to a file all at once. The chain can be saved as I previously stated.
Assuming you have Sound Forge Pro 11, 12 or 13: "View> Fx Plug-in Chainer" or "Fx> Favorites > Apply Plug-in Chain".

Hello, guys, good Morning !

The plug-in chainer feature does not have some necessary commands for general use.

I thought, then, about scrip, or batch of commands.
But there is no handbook / manual with the commands.
I leave the suggestion to the company:

1) learning script commands

2) Macro or batch with commands.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The process I "invented" to transform from mono to stereo:
(to simulate stereo)
01) File -> Open -> [choose file]
02) If the file has only one channel:
        Menu -> Process -> Channel Converter -> [Sys] Mono to Stereo - 50%
03) Select ONLY the left channel.
04) With only the left channel selected:
        Menu -> Process -> EQ -> Graphic ... -> [ESQ_Mono_para_Stereo] option
05) Apply again (Ctrl "Y")
06) Menu -> Process -> Invert / Flip
07) Select ONLY the right channel.
08) With only the right channel selected:
        Menu -> Process -> EQ -> Graphic ... -> [DIR_Mono_para_Stereo] option
09) Apply again (Ctrl "Y")
10) Menu
        Effects -> Delay / Echo -> Simple -> [Sys] Pseudo Stereo
11) Save.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 [ESQ_Mono_para_Stereo] and  [DIR_Mono_para_Stereo] option
are preset I created, I send attached to anyone who wants to use.

your link does not work.

Yes, a script would be best to run your exact commands. Scripting is not my area of expertise but there are folks and other options that may help
Perusing the SCS SF Script archives may help if finding or modifying a similar script
Offhand the only script expert I recall at the moment is Ed Troxel, check out his website and to contact

Otherwise there are some work arounds.
- There are mono to stereo plug-ins available, for instance  have I have used Voxengo's free 'Stereo Touch' which works good .
- More than one instance of the graphic EQ (or other plug-in) can be added to a chainer.
- If you have Vegas Pro, it can import two-channel files as two mono tracks which can be opened as a copy (take 2) in SF or opened directly in SF. You can also choose left or right mono right in SF, Right-clicking the 'Stereo' button at the bottom of the SF timeline brings up context menu options for mono conversions.
